-CALL TO ACTION-
Covid-19 3D Printing Project
With COVID -19 spreading across the nation hospitals are running out of protective masks, face shields, and other items. At Yakima Maker Space rows of 3D printers, are running 24/7 printing solutions to help medical personnel cope with the shortage of personal protection equipment.
Our goal is to print 400 hundred masks as fast as we can. YMS is now housing rows 3D printers from both public and private institutions, and is working on getting more to meet demand. However these prints take 7.5 hours to print so we are asking that you join us. Just download .stl files and review specifications from the link below and get started. Together we can provide a flexible reusable mask that can be form-fitted for hospital staff during this equipment shortage.
If you have a 3D printer and would like to help us in our mission please download files and specifications from link below. Once item(s) are printed contact email@example.com to make arrangements for drop-off at location. If you don’t have a 3D printer but would like to help with material costs and expenses please consider making a donation today.

We are all being affected by this viral epidemic and Thrive Industries LLC is working tirelessly with YMS and our local community partners to help facilitate supplies, machines, and other necessary items to keep up with the emergency demand within our local area. Our first responders are working on the front lines and we are doing our part to try and keep them safe while they work to save lives” - Nick Romero, Thrive Industries LLC
Yakima Maker Space started in 2013 with the auspicious goal of galvanizing our city's creative potential with a space where you could make almost anything. Since then we have hosted dozens of events from brainstorming sessions, maker fairs, classes, and workshops. We host creative thinkers, artists, craftsmen, entrepreneurs, and nerds of all kinds. Today we are leveraging our community knowledge, and resources to provide solutions to the COVID-19 crisis.
Covid-19 Sewing Project
Stevena House one of our wonderful sewing instructors at YMS has been busy coming up with a sewing project that can help with the shortage of safety equipment, if you are a local sewers and would like to help make supplementary protective garments such as masks and gowns for the medical staff. Based off of measurements of a modern medical gown and historical research for non-elastic medical masks She has made patterns that anyone can use to assist their local hospitals in meeting their need.
