Folk Art Painting on Wooden Crate
Instructor: Debbie Sundlee
An introductory class in using acrylic paints to design and decorate wooden crates.
Each participant will receive a pre-made wooden crate (may be different from picture), access to a wide choice of acrylic paints and good quality paint brushes. It will be each participant's choice of how they design and paint their crate. Reference art books will be made available by the instructor from which you may choose ideas, or you can design your own plans ahead of time. You may personalize your create with calligraphy, folk art designs from around the world, wild flowers, art deco and art nouveau designs, NW Native Indian designs, or many other sources.
Your instructor will demonstrate how to blend and mix acrylic colors, how to "shade" and highlight, and how to maximize success with the media for pleasing results.
Suggested supplies to bring with you: apron, paper for designing and drawing, a variety of pencils, fine point Sharpie pens and an eraser.
