What is a Creative District?

  • Fri, August 13, 2021
  • 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM
  • Larson Gallery

A Creative District is a fun place to live, work, and visit. It is a geographically defined area in your city that is recognized by the state to promote cultural and the economic activity.

Larson Gallery will host a community conversation about what a creative district would look like in downtown Yakima. Heath Lambe will give a brief overview of what the Yakima Art Commission does and some of its opportunities for artists, give a short presentation on what a creative district might look like, and then start a community conversation about the project.

All are welcome, with a special call to artists, e.g. painters, sculptures, ceramic, fiber artists, etc.  Please come tell us what your needs are to be successful and we can work out how a creative district might be just the thing for you.
