This class is for anyone interested in learning the fundamentals of sewing. We will explore the sewing machine, tools, and materials. Participants will gain knowledge about machine components, threading, bobbin winding, and basic stitches like straight and zigzag. Constructing a simple tote bag (supplies provided!) will give students hands on experience practicing skills such as:

  • Fabric handling, measuring, and cutting
  • Smooth stitching, seam allowance, navigating corners
  • Project construction, turning flat fabric into a 3D tote bag
  • Sewing machine troubleshooting

You'll leave the class with the confidence to sew beginner projects on your own, and with an adorable, custom tote bag to carry your creations.  Happy sewing!

Instructor: Rose-Ellen Jackson
