Intro to Wheel Throwing

Wheel Throwing is a mesmerizing skill that anyone can learn. With some practice, throwing can open endless possibilities to creating with clay.

In this introductory course, you will learn the fundamentals of wheel throwing, covering:

Clay and it’s stages

 Wedging and why we do it

 Centering, Opening, Pulling Walls, and Shaping

Trimming and prepping a pot for firing

The class includes studio clay, 6 – 2 hour classes, all the tools and equipment for throwing, two firings, and glazes for your pieces.

In addition, two bonus classes:

Glaze Day – Dec 7th at 11 am: You will learn how to prep your pieces for glazing and different glazing techniques.

Class Show – Dec 11th at 11 am: Pick up and show your work to see how you have improved throughout the last 6 weeks.
